No idea what a '3 day off cover staff' is.... but I assume you will be found a place. They just said on the CWU Live that this USO change is not going to work unless they are fully staffed. They can't be having rounds not going out.
We cover rotating day offs one in four. My mate reckons he's gunna be royally shafted

Depends on what they're doing now on those 3 days? Do they cover the same duty currently,? As in that case I wouldn't be too disheartened as most people will be covering between 2-4 routes as they currently are.

Probably coming in every day to 3 or 4 days mail? Unless every office is fully staff every day you can see it being a nightmare for any reserves/day off cover, as once a duty doesn't go out what was 2/3 days mail then suddenly becomes 3 or 4 days mail the following day.
