Quite literally every parcel now is a tracked. A sack of parcels can contain maybe only 5 or 6 'normal'. Everything else is tracked.

Last 2 days we have only done Tracked and Specials. Many couldn't even finish the Tracked today.

Mail piling up in frames and trays.

Not my problem and gave up caring a long time ago as seems management on all levels haven't a clue.

It's their company to ru(i)n.

Everything tracked. T48 is basically same price as second class and there should be no issue standing these form if there are too many parcels in the pipe.

Everything tracked. T48 is basically same price as second class and there should be no issue standing these form if there are too many parcels in the pipe.

Quite often customer say "I wasn't expecting that until tomorrow" I've no idea why we worry about delivering T48's on the day they reach the DO or why they seem to arrive at the DO just as quickly as T24's.

Tell me about it, too much work and all you get out of DOM is take premium products, you can hardly find any to leave as 98% is bloody tracked. This year I decided to work till 16:00 (it gets dark here in S.East Kent ((so glad I don't live in Scotland lol)) then) and the o.t rate is not worth it but I want to try and clear as much as possible, but I am buggered if I am working in the dark! I don't do overtime on Saturdays though, luckily it's my long weekend this week, but the week after I really won't be taking much mail as we have to get back to scan out at 14:19 on a Saturday as we now have to do collections from pillar boxes at weekend now. Oh well, soon be over I s'pose, really want out of this shi* show though, done 14 years and it's unrecognisable since when I started in Dec 2009, at least I don't have to reminisce about the really good old days when 2 pouches was a crap duty! Lol

Total inverse from just ten years ago. It wasn't unreasonable at the time to prioritise Tracked because you only had five. I said many times in the intervening years as the proportion of Tracked kept increasing that it would end in apocalyptic scenes in DOs. Unrelated question: how many tons of paper are RM2000 frames rated to hold?

I remember when the last letter during Christmas pressure was earlier than the rest of the year. I wish it was 2009 again.

Have you enough staff in your office .
Ours is dire not enough staff ,plenty of hero's who want to stay out ,thinking they'll get a pat on the back the following day, never get any extra xmas staff , 50 % of mail not going out on mine getting tracked done, and still going well over, what a joke.

Workers across the postal industry are reporting that the operation is at breaking point or indeed broken. The CWU has nothing to say about it or any ideas for saving the industry. Workers know full well that what is happening will allow an attempt to ditch letters altogether with the resulting massive job losses. Some brave workers are attempting to do the impossible in the hope of saving their jobs. Whilst it is understandable for workers to say they are simply working to their time, it has to be understood that every failure is a nail in the coffin of postal workers.

No not enough staff. Couldn't give a s**t anymore. Start and finish time. R.M is reaping what it has sowed.

Or maybe they are reaping what they are planning? Do you think the decline of letters is by chance? They need the takeover and they need the USO change. This is abetted by hiking first class stamp prices and failing the USO daily due to under resourcing of staff, lack of vans, unachievable workload, etc...They need Daniel's parcel lockers because (that's where the next day parcel profit is) and together with the USO stitch up that'll mean carnage of the delivery staff. The only job that is truly safe are the afternoon DPR drivers because they are on new contracts (they want rid of old FT contracts and especially walkers), their parcels don't fit in lockers and they can work Sundays

Hit the nail on the head there. Absolutely, without a doubt it's all being done on purpose. What's happening now in delivery offices has always been the long term plan.

Thing is, the public are actually helping mail stick around. I said it here about a week ago....most houses on my round get mail 5 or 6 days a week and a lot of them get 3 to 8 letters a day. WHY?!?!?!

How the heck are we not at the point in this day and age where each house gets max 5 letters a week. Everything is digital now.

Some people still like to look at catalogues even though they then order online Screwfix etc.
Loyalty card stuff - Boots, Sainsbury's Tesco Waitrose etc.
Vets. I don't know why vets send so much stuff addressed to the animal.

It is all dying a death. It won't last forever.
