Since you started in July they’ve been able to be tightwads about overtime but Black Friday is coming and then Christmas and we’ll pretty much have parcels backed up everywhere, so you will have no trouble picking up extra hours.
Yeah I have been putting my name down for OT in the sorting office but nothing yet. I’m happy to do OT on lats but because I’m on a paired job I’d have to come back to go back out, I don’t really want to be doing that to be honest. Easier to take it out with the job.
Unless they wangle the new USO set up I can see another exodus due to these later Saturday finishes. If they can swing it so it’s just tracked goes out on a Saturday I think that would be popular, the rejigging of duties less so.
People who are able to perform the same duties day in day out at the moment must surely realise that those days are numbered.

The change in times makes no sense to me? If we were delivering stuff faster as a result, it would make sense, but we’re delivering anything not tracked slower and RM are routinely delaying mail in MCs. The whole thing is a nonsense.
Since our times changed I've noticed far more T24 on core delivery. Previously it was the odd one that LATs couldn't deliver the night before and now it's at least half. Makes me wonder if pleasing the major retailer contracts was the real aim.

Sounds like a sensible move. If they can’t get to the DO by 9am ish they can wait. Must cost a lot having a couple of guys in each office driving over a huge area delivering a hand full of packets.
Can’t see too many new starters sticking at it unless they get a decent pay increase in the new tax year. Job’s too tiring to be doing it for near minimum wage.

I thought they introduced lat because they had to offer later acceptance times to get more customers on board, have they decided the extra volume compared to cost of providing the service isn't working ?

So that everything becomes later and later? I thought the whole point of all these time changes was greater efficiency and being able to deliver quickly for certain large customers, to keep us competitive? But the opposite seems to be happening?!

No idea. Either they get cross-docked straight to the lorry to the DO or they arrive after the night shift's final dispatch. Wave 3 got axed a few years ago so I'd assume that the DOs send a small van to collect the LATs from the MC
