The Way Forward clearly states seniority can be used for leave arrangements.
What it actually states is:
All employees will be included on an equal basis whether full or part time. (p 19)

What exactly does it say?
Word for word.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It doesn’t state that seniority should be used to prioritise senior staff when picking leave dates. It simply states it can be used as a tool to aid leave picking.tramssirhc wrote: ↑20 Sep 2024, 20:49P.20.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑20 Sep 2024, 17:01Does it? Where?tramssirhc wrote: ↑20 Sep 2024, 16:42

Absolutely, we use seniority but it's top to bottom one year followed by bottom to top the following, when it gets to the bottom/top the pick goes back up/down again so it's actually quite fair and generally everyone gets at least their 1st two weeks choice usually more, I've had four weeks that I want most years (the 1st pick is two weeks), obviously if you're in the middle you're never 1st but if you're top or bottom you're last on alternate years.Barnacle wrote: ↑21 Sep 2024, 07:43It doesn’t state that seniority should be used to prioritise senior staff when picking leave dates. Anyway as I say this works well it just requires the person/s that operate it to be arsed to do it, we had a previous "manager" that wanted everyone to write down their full amount of choices, the lazy option for them which absolutely doesn't work as they give weeks close by if the one you want is full, resulting in their choice of a week you don't want rather than your choice of one that you'd prefer.
