There's no doubt the amount of crap that RM put on these PDAs is inversely proportionate to how functional the PDA is to do what it was originally intended.

I've had it happen a few times, also I've had them reappear after a reboot when I've already scanned them. I've had random reboots while scanning to core as well.

My PDA loses any collections & pickups most days, usually around 12 o'clock, also my beep no longer works & on heavy days the battery runs out, if you put it in for repair, they give it a new starter, because they do not have enough PDAs, then you get it back after a few days, still the same surpose the answer would be try & smash it so it no longer works?

I had the screen locked and hibernated in my pocket when I wasn't using it so as far as I was concerned this was a technical fault and not mine. Unfortunately the collections manager was in the office that day. He refuted my version of events as incredulous and was absolutely insistent it was me that must have screwed it up out of malice or stupidity.

Just keep putting it in for repair until they pull their finger out and actually get it repaired

There's no reasonable excuse for that.
When a manager call the IT bods to book a PDA in for a repair they send out a replacement which will come in with the specials the next day (could occasionally the following day) and the faulty one is to be returned in the box the replacement came in.
It almost as if RM actually recognises that PDAs are essential to our job...or at least monitoring us doing the job

Broken PDAs should only be rotating round the office if people aren't reporting the damage and faults that render them unusable or, the person who's supposed to be making the phone call/filling in the form isn't doing it

I call it "ghosting" when a box you've scanned, a tracked parcel you've taken the photo of (in safe place/letterbox) then "reappears" on the PDA..... When it's a tracked I then take a photo of "PDA FAIL" scribbled on something and we are lucky that the "Locker staff" can not only fix the former but trust you when you say you've scanned it.....
