...so went back out to do one last parcel. Delivered it, get back in the van and it wouldn’t start.

On another tangent... what was wrong with the van? Bit of a random guess, but I'm thinking starter motor? "Tap" it a few times and it would kick into life.

time to deliver/van failure/contracted hours/can't find it 'cos they don't know the area as 'Incaccessible' - that's
basically lying. It should be 'Delivery not attempted' and let the manager put up with the flak because they've not resourced correctly.

One of ours did. It was written on a flip chart which I took a photo of for future use in case I was ever challenged.

There is but you’d likely be shot for choosing that option because the manager would have to answer to that. Whereas with inaccessible, the item is cleared off their to do list.

Yeah, not attempted is flat out a clear option on the "Record not delivered item" list.

Much like PDA failures resulting in people sent out to boxes that have been emptied but didn't scan because PDAs failed to load routes in the morning or other issues, managers have figured out which options need answers and prefer the "Oh, uh, roadworks yo" rather than "We f****d up." answer after a "pda failure" or "Barcode issue" scan.

Why rush back with the collection mail??? Finish your tracks. If you're back for the lorry you're back. It's no big deal missing it. Bosses moaning about OT annoy the life out of me. It's as if its out of their own pockets!! They're just worried about keeping their budgets sweet to get them their bonuses!!!

I couldn't tell you what time the wagon comes to collect the collections at our office. We also haven't been told to get our collections back by a certain time either. It comes back when I come back. If I've missed one lorry there'll always be another. I certainly don't rush to bring it back. It comes back when my delivery is complete

I couldn't tell you what time the wagon comes to collect the collections at our office. We also haven't been told to get our collections back by a certain time either. It comes back when I come back. If I've missed one lorry there'll always be another. I certainly don't rush to bring it back. It comes back when my delivery is complete

Collections are due back at mc every day at a certain cut off time otherwise classed as a failure
