People claiming they have not been paid for thursday and friday this week, how can that be? PSP usually closes around midday on tuesday for entries this week. To stop your pay for yesterday and today the manager at your unit would have to assume you are going to be on strike today and stop your pay, my own manager told me they are not allowed to do that, they have to do it on the day or as soon as possible after.

Plenty at ours have had enoronious amounts taken off for no logical reason. One ended up with £36 take home pay.

Sure strikes can be cancelled and people should be prepared. But when it is such short notice. Like not knowing until the early hours of the morning you can't expect everyone to come in. Try sorting child care an hour before your start time. People cancelled nurseries and sitters to save money that was being lost due to the strikes.
I'm turning purple!

Say an agreement was reached today (Thursday) we'd have all had to return to work Friday, why anyone would make other plans I don't knowBarryTorso wrote: ↑09 Sep 2022, 00:22Didn't say me personally.CABANA83 wrote: ↑09 Sep 2022, 00:19Some of us find it very tricky to juggle childcare when you are one of 2 working parents, so having a bit of respite in terms of drop offs and pick ups and then planning around that, only for the situation to change last minute, has made it not worth the stress to rearrange it all.BarryTorso wrote: ↑09 Sep 2022, 00:15For folk genuinely not able to make it in for whatever reason due to the late strike cancellation, what's the official standpoint from RM? Never been involved in strike action before let alone when this sort of situation arises.
Why couldn't you make it? Lad at work booked a weekend away, you're on strike not holiday![]()
No we wouldn't. Same deal would apply. Due to short notice staff unable to attend would take unpaid leave with no repercussions. For the record i did not attend. Reason being short notice. That's all they need to know.

Those who made it into work good for you , well done.
I personally didn't as it was far to late into the day and as for people moaning about people going away for a break etc , Get a grip.
# The ripping up of terms and conditions is much more of a concern than getting a pay rise! CWU need to understand this.

Absolutely. The eventual pay increase will end up netting us around £1200 to £1500 a year in extra wages.scabbyhorse wrote: ↑10 Sep 2022, 11:02Those who made it into work good for you , well done.

It'll help but won't even pay for the fuel price increased costs.
The Sundays, the start times and the sick pay are the real issues.

Working however many hours your manager tells you, when they tell you, even at short notice, for fixed weekly pay without overtime? No, no, no.
