I would have thought it would be ok to go to your own home for your break as long as it was close to your round. Posties are allowed to drive to the nearest toilet....so if the nearest toilet you can use is at your own home - then I don't see the problem.

Exactly, a bit of common sense applies here.

I've popped in past my house multiple times while at work, to use toilet, get medication, to swap out boots, change clothes / pick up extra waterproofs, etc etc.

I'd rather be sacked for that, than work for a company that doesn't apply common sense to these things. As long as your van is locked up, and mail is secure, what difference does it make.

This is exactly why you question the brain logic of a select few morons working for this company.

Our Manager loves it at Christmas when we get the Hire Vans in. He can drive around in a Brand New Mercedes Van collecting all his Christmas shopping, saving fuel, and wear and tear .... and nobody knows!

Such a shame they don't hire the crew cab version then he could take the kids as well!
