Cycle 2 work scheme

Mine took about 15 days from the day I applied.
Halfords reserved my bike for the full 15 day duration.

I spent a total of £546.00, so £46 over budget, the guy who dealt with my purchase was ace and used loads of discount vouchers and brought my total down to £498.00

So I can't fault my Halfords, plus I got a £799.00 bike which was there last in stock, so they sold it to me for less than £400, which gave me plenty for extras.

if you join the cycle to work will the deductions for the bike show on your wage slip? so you can see how much is being paid and when the payments should stop?

Just a quick question. Once you apply on line for your C2W info to be sent out how long is the process till you recieve your LOC & how long do Halfords hold your bike for.?? Many thanks.....

Mate at work applied about a week later the paper work came through, he signed it and sent it back, they then wait a week for a cooling off period before emailing a collection voucher for you to print out and take to halfords, Halfords then took a week to get the bike in stock, so it took three weeks altogether.

Thanks for that,when i`ve spoke to RM they have told me different to Halfords.!! I`ll await email letter.

also be aware you do not have to use Halfords
there are other shops who will take the voucher
ask around you local shops

How do they know the bike is used primarily for work purpose? What would be stopping me getting a bike and not using it that often for getting 2 and from but just to go out on?

They don't ..... don't worry about it.
i have 2 bikes off the scheme and rarely use either to commute.

Really its that easy to get away with? I was looking at a bike not long ago but didn't bother.

Thanks for the info and link, logged in and managed to contact the C2W people via telephone to be told that I cant order the bike I want from my LBS and instead I HAVE to use either Halfords (err no thanks) or themselves at the C2W place if I want another make of bike aside from the usual makes on offer. The whole problem now arises that the bike I was keen on is coming in at around £550 (yes £50 over budget I know) which wouldnt have been such a problem to sort IF I had been able to get it via my LBS. But ultimately if I try to order this via the C2W people then they're gonna refuse cos of the fact its over budget. Interestingly enough - at present RM employees get 10% off the cost of the scheme - so spending £500 will take the total down to £450 but they wont let you spend £550 and bring the total cost down to £495 which I find rather silly

I got my first bike from leisure lakes approx 2 years ago,
they accepted the voucher no problem,
have u tried ringing leisure lakes and asking them if they will accept it ?
