So does it really matter if she is a postie or manager.

We do not want opinions from others viewpoints shut down because people are anti manager or anti postie. Managers opnions are just as valid as Posties as long as trhey are expressed in a polite and non confrontational manner. I mean we even have it in our rules viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11169

Just because someone has a different viewpoint or political position to you, it does not mean that they are a 'Manager' or a 'Union fanatic', any posts making such assumptions or generalisations will be pulled or amended and the poster warned. This also applies to posts that are not aimed at individuals but at groups.

So please stop with this your a manager crap, it makes no differemce.
Yes it does matter

If someone is masquerading as a postie when they are a manager or vice versa then of course it matters - especially when their opinions are often inflammatory in nature designed to get people's backs up. Managers should be allowed to post freely but people who clearly are managers but pretending to be 'new starts' and such like and trolling? Nah, I dont want to be part of a forum where a moderator thinks its ok for such practises to go on so im done with this place.
But the vitroil on here from people who try to shut down managers means to avoid confrontation they have to pretend to be posties or new starters.

I am not saying don't question what they post, indeed challenege it, but do not use the "oh you are just a manager" to dismiss and shut them down. Use logic and sensible argumnets to prove your point.

Mate, its a bit weird coming on here pretending not to be a manager when its clear to most of the forum you are never the female postie you claim you are.
Is not challenging their arguments its an attempt to shut them down because you disagree with them
I think you may be a manager but you are wrong, and here is why
You are calling them out on being a manager but you are explaining why.

There is a difference and the one thing I don't want on here is a Trump like Cult where only certain people can post and everyone else is seen as our enemy.

Also to warn Managers - if you come on here trolling or pretending to be a postie just to cause division, and its blatant then you will be kicked from RoyalMailChat.
TBT, I have to date shared on this forum: (i) a redacted copy of my offer letter; (ii) a screenshot from MyPerformance of activity for 11 September; (iii) excerpts from my payslip; and (iv) a photo of me stood at the rear of my van. I don’t know what else I can do to prove my bona fides. As I hope you will appreciate, it is difficult/impossible for me to prove or disprove a negative.
Who cares. Your doing the job the way it rea!oh should be done but you need to remember that about 90% of the staff are on far better contracts and about 60% were there when it was cushy and nothing was left undelivered in any office. And people find it hard, especially the way you come across in some of your comments. Your views on the job might have changed in a year or so when your just another member of staff getting shafted every day. :cuppa
Well, you seem to care quite a bit!

I’ve been in and around RM now for just shy of two years, and my viewpoint is constantly evolving.

My views on the company are valid, current and on point, since I am indeed just “another member of staff”, unlike your good self — someone who doesn’t even work for the business and who has no recent first-hand experience or knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes.

You’re just very bitter, chum. I’m happy to leave those people on “far better contracts” that you identify to fend for themselves, and I’ll do likewise.

At it again Smooth, you seem to relish in the vitrol. Not really sure what you think you are achieving but whatever floats your boat. You really should get some assistance with that, maybe professional help, actually RM have people that will talk with you.
As for the managerial debate..... you certainly sound right for a future, if not already, manager. That self righteous attitude and believing us posties are lazy and overpaid all shouts manager.
You only know the present job, not the job of the past and while it has changed beyond recognition, what we have to do in a day or are expected to do in a day has gone through the roof.
Use of "Amazon" as some sort of starting off point to compare doesn't work, we are unique in the delivery sector and nobody does the same. Believing that what you say is "valid, current and on point" says it all, 2 yrs in and you are suddenly the Messiah, jesus wept!
Alternative views are all well and good, yours are based on us "Legacy" workers having a different contract, believe me when i tell you i don't want you or anyone else getting paid less than me for doing the same job, how it gets fixed i don't know but continuing the attacks on us and the union certainly won't.
I certainly want to hear the views of the newbies on working at RM and wish to hear all of yours too, but this blame game isn't going anywhere.

Navalron chose to resurrect the thread, directing it towards me, and so I have replied. If that constitutes “at it again” then so be it. If someone mentions me or replies to summat I’ve said, I will do likewise and hence be “at it again”.

Thank you for the back-handed compliment. I do have extensive people, project and business management skills from my previous career but those days are long behind me. I don’t think I have the mental resilience for such things anymore, following a close bereavement. Where I make judgments or express a view, it is based on my own observations and experience. I am not the Messiah, but my views can be prophetic…. Thank you for the vote of confidence :Very Happy

Finally, you may have a bit of a chip on your shoulder. RM isn’t unique. Some of its employees are however unique…uniquely bad?

I’m not from Yorkshire myself, though I do have close family links to Heaton (Bradford).
