Thankfully the thunderstorm warning came to nothing, but it still rained mags and parcels, as it does most Thursdays.

Another good day today. Back at office for 12:45, with nothing left in the office to be sent back out with. Stayed to do tomorrow’s and wednesday’s d2d and now back at home gardening.
never happens for me.

is it a case that rounds are too short at your depot?
I wish. I normally claim overtime. The week just gone was a blip.

Probably the quietest Thursday I have ever known.
Recession?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Busy Wednesdays are great to be paired up with someone who has never done this van share duty during their limited time in the job, barely finished on time while prioritising the usual, having got out later than scheduled. Tomorrow will be very challenging. :Boo hoo!

Back on top of things now just about, after all parcels for one of the two duties taken out by colleague on ot, took an age to prep yesterday's undelivered mail bundles back into frame first thing. :cuppa

Yesterday we took 2 loops of mail that had not been out Monday & Tuesday plus packets for the whole walk, left 4 loops in the frame, driver did the packets, I did the 4 walks with trolley, have to say delivering good size chunks of mail along with the D2D to almost every house really works, nice easy stress free day.

Heatwave days like this are horrendous to deliver in, despite what the public think!

After months of not doing overtime, I was on a round today that I’ve not done for a while that has 3 days mail in.

I decided to relent for once and told my line manager I’d clear the round but would need 1hr 45mins. My thinking being I’d build up my strike fund a bit plus I have next week off. I reminded her again just before I left to make sure she puts me down for 1hr 45mins. She assured me it would be on the sheet.

Get back to the office, a warm aching sweaty mess, to find my beloved line manager (who no doubt clocked off by midday) hadn’t put my OT on.

I won’t be doing a single minute extra ever again, sod em.
Once bitten, twice shy,
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
