If you're that short on staff then you won't get any large packet help, without extra lapsing being added to everyone to free up staff to do large packet runs

No one is on holiday in December so most offices will have extra bodies .SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑29 Nov 2021, 19:56If you're that short on staff then you won't get any large packet help, without extra lapsing being added to everyone to free up staff to do large packet runs

Yip . It’s a domino effect and has been for months . Never known such a turnover in staff . We are asked to concentrate on “premium products” which affects customers Mail . Still a lot of tights in the office despite it being 10 degrees warmer. Swan Lake anyone?
And then as an early xmas present we got a new DOM - not to replace the incompetent one but to supplement it.
2 DOMs for the price of one - BOGOF.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Bonkers amounts of parcels coming to the van share frames and to the oversize yorks for the duty, worst I've known it on this pairing, albeit last Xmas we were working solo so hard to judge and in previous years the driver has got out on an early parcel run while the passenger double-prepped. Couldn't even deliver all the letters for one of the frames, last couple of hours both working hard to just about deliver the parcels and get back top the depot on time. I'm not staying out in the cold and dark to deliver on overtime for a couple of hours, especially when I won't qualify for extra holiday pay.

Madness.
Just madness.
Double mail, rammed with packets. Brought loops back.
The indoor work is absolutely mental now. Cant even move and feel claustrophobic.
Ahh, the joys, ey

Deliver the tracked etc at the start, if it takes longer you bring even more back.

Of course, but if you have too many tracked items to deliver in your time then there is nothing wrong with bringing it back, there is a lot of posties that seem to think tracked MUST be completed even if it means going overtimeyellowbelly wrote: ↑01 Dec 2021, 18:54If that's what 'the management' direct (at the expense of 'normal' stuff) then that's what you have to do, surely?

Covid test kits have shot up in number, probably around 4 time the average number that would have passed through last week

Because that is what management preach. Tracked can be handed back the same as everything but be prepared for the B&H to be different league. If you don’t have the time your manager will have to arrange for someone else to do them.
