Good for you if someone had a camera set up you could be done for theft not that you give a toss for 20p!PostmanBitesDog wrote:Right then,
I'm a bit annoyed with myself for forgetting to do something today.![]()
There I was, heading towards some apartments located one flight up an outside staircase, and lo and behold I pass a 20p coin on the pavement. I said to myself, when I come back down the staircase after I deliver some letters to the apartments I'll pick up that coin and pop it into my pocket. Could bring me good luck!
So, I slip the mail in the letter slots and head down the staircase. And I carry on up the street delivering the rest of today's mail. And I head back to the office. And I sign out for the day. And I go home.
And I f***ing forgot to pick up that 20p coin!

And a massive increase in door-to-doors, too.Grumpyoldmailman wrote:Double lapsing will be on Monday now you have not picked that up.PostmanBitesDog wrote:I said to myself, when I come back down the staircase after I deliver some letters to the apartments I'll pick up that coin and pop it into my pocket. It's going to be a nightmare in both MCs and DOs once the Xmas cards start to come through. Because of social distancing we'll have half the number of people facing the Xmas cards so more will go manual

Lidl AND Aldi D2D catalogues were all piled high on yorks ready for this coming week. 1 is heavy enough but 2?! Can’t even get them in an empty frame let alone a round that has gone once since Monday.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

If this week is anything to go by the only thing getting delivered will be tracked parcels, anyone waiting on cards or normal parcels will be waiting until the new year. Our managers have already said all they are bothered about this year is tracked parcelsSpacePhoenix wrote:It's going to be a nightmare in both MCs and DOs once the Xmas cards start to come through. Hope you've got the space to store them, we certainly won't. We'll need every last bit of space that's not in our warehouse or collection bay for sorting. Once we start getting the extra artics each night, our warehouse will always be full, likely with Tracked.citypostie wrote:If this week is anything to go by the only thing getting delivered will be tracked parcels, anyone waiting on cards or normal parcels will be waiting until the new year. I haven't noticed less people at home but there are more cars on the road probably due to more schoolchildren not using the coaches. I have noticed more people out walking than is usually the case - more older and retired people on my walk I think. It isn't really a lockdown though until they start keeping the students at home who are the primary spreaders of Covid.Grumpyoldmailman wrote:Another thing I have noticed in the last 3 or 4 day is there seems to be less people at home and more people out and about than before the latest lockdown was announced. Anyone else finding this?

It seems the folks in my neighborhood are really fed up with the lockdown restrictions, because I can hear gunfire outside my place right now. There's a shoot-out going on, probably with the cops.
Or maybe they're fireworks.

Are there Xmas levels of post / parcels anywhere yet?
Today was light for me which I was surprised by.

Beyond Christmas levels are parcels for us! Twenty Yorks turned up just before sorting finishes, so nineteen Yorks remained untouched when we went out.

Today was the worst day I have ever seen in 5 years
2 trays of sequenced, 4 trays of flats, 3 full packet bags and 3 yorks of parcels
I'm on a rural with 400 calls. Finished 2 hours over my time

I had 2 and a half York’s today down from 3 on Saturday. Literally a parcel/packed for every 4th or 5th house and 5 d2d’s, 2 of which advertising offers in shops that are not even open at the moment.norris9 wrote:Are there Xmas levels of post / parcels anywhere yet?
