Really busy day today as the MC cleared their backlog. People ordering necessary items such as crates of 24 bottles of tonic water etc. Wasn't required to do sorting or prep due to distancing regulations. No time to take break and went an hour over my duty time. The current situation is unsustainable in the medium to long term.

It's probably going to be down to whether a lot of people keep buying stuff online or whether they revert back to buying stuff in shops once the lockdown is over.

It means that the time needed to complete the work either takes up all the duty time or takes longer than the duty time. In some parts of the UK there will be less mail and parcels ordered and posties get done well before their duty time ends. In other areas the public seemingly have an inexhaustible supply of money and are ordering tat like crazy. RM likes to have average figures such as their call rate figure of 60%. Life isn't like that though but the likes of Rico Black will never acknowledge it.

I'm sure you don't need to be told about the Over Running Procedure Celgar? It doesn't matter how Busy it is, or how much mail your Duties got ..... You should be taking your Meal Relief, just to give yourself a rest .... the busier it is the more important to take a break.

If it's that busy tell your DOM you need some help. In the current situation, "All Bets are Off" .....we're only prioritising Specials ... Tracked ... Recorded .... and 1st class Mail & Parcels. That should help to lighten your load a bit?

Had some difficulty yesterday with an apartment block. I had 12 parcels, all too big for their letterboxes (which are in the foyer on the ground floor). There are signs all over the foyer saying do not leave any parcels here or we will pursue you and your delivery company for compensation.

Had to ring each number in turn, some asked me to leave in the foyer (!!!), some said they’d be right down, one even asked if I could come back in an hour!

I waited 2 minutes, then lined the parcels up in order of address and started filling out P739 cards. Took me 11 minutes to fill them all out, in that time only 2 people came down. The rest were slipped.

God knows how the usual postman does it.

100% true. Thing is, I had another 15 apt blocks like that afterwards (once again, I’m intrigued to question the regular postie and find out what he does).

Second to last block, the woman practically pleaded with me over intercom to walk along the corridor to her flat to deliver the parcel, I cut her off mid sentence as she explained and I refused, I’d had enough by that point and said no you come here. 2mins later she hobbled down on crutches. Talk about sod’s law, I felt so bad and heartless.

Usual crap day in the office took the chance to finally clear up the mail from last Thurs/Fri/Sat as we'd only been able to do packets on these days,Moral in our office is pretty damn low due to a colleague passing away from covid last week just prepped everything and up pops the DOM who we've not seen for a few weeks asking why we hadn't put D2D's in? No kinda how you all feeling etc.By the time i left the office i honestly could've clumped someone.The last few days have been the worst i've known in over 30 years for stress i've had crap sleep and would really rather not be dealing with this.
Out on delivery i've got to say the public came up trumps,Words obviously got around i had a number of customers handing me cash to drop into the collection for the family of someone they've never even met.

My sympathies are with you and your office (not the Dom). Take care of yourself and if you feel too stressed don't go to work, maybe call feeling first class, if it's still going in covid times. May help to talk it through. Keep strong. We're all with you. Take care.

Thanks for your concerns and sympathy,Today the DOM upset so many people the whole office walked out not sure what started it but apparently he was shouting at people,A call was put into the DSM who removed him from the floor and to be honest turned up pretty sharpish.Tomorrow apparently HR are coming to try and smooth things?

Most duties had a letter for every call, I had none but expect them wednesday, nothing in the pipeline about these, nhs apparantly!

Seen the Royal Mail brief today we are doomed ,they are trying to get rid of all float duties a monday to Friday s/a,can't believe no real response from CWU ,rise up ,don't make me laugh,members are looking like right mugs at the moment.
