Shared van rules. First post edited with full list
Here is the safety risk assessment for ‘voluntary’ two in a van.
1. Manager assurance process........
2. Voluntary basis
3. Use of fixed pairings/pods to reduce exposure
4. Clinically extremely vulnerable individuals are excluded
5. Maximum of two occupants (driver + passenger) in vehicle
6. Vehicle windows to be open when vehicle is occupied and in use.
7. Vehicle air conditioning to be turned off
8. Vehicle air circulation on
9. Mandatory use of face coverings/masks for both while in van...........
19. Time in the shared van to be kept to as short as possible, for example breaks or lunch should not be taken together.
20. In the event of local restrictions/outbreaks the use of shared vans to be reviewed.

Erm have they been recommended by Donald Trump.
The RM higher ups are so incompetent they’re actually 2 months behind the governments “everything thing back to normal” spiel that is being proven to be bulls**t even before winter has kicked in

Unless they are offering a 6 day week with guaranteed overtime as an incentive to agree.Grumpyoldmailman wrote:

Duty holders are going to be moved to accommodate this. Rest day covers as well.
Our staffing is crap at the best of times. This will cause management more problems than it will solve.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I know this probably sounds stupid but there are some saying in my unit that it’s only voluntary for two weeks then it becomes mandatory.
As someone who’s clinically vulnerable, I’ll be having to use the health and safety act if true.

If you dont agree to share they will find someone who will and you will become a leave reserve and end up with HCT duty ?

How can you be a leave reserve and have a HCT duty?
If they make you a reserve then it’s purely to put pressure on you as logistically it’s even bigger a problem being a reserve who doesn’t van share for them

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Told today anyone not up for van sharing will be coming in later when the van returns. Going out on foot or bikes is impracticable to RM. Seems to work when it suits?
