That was covered in work time learning for us, but no paperwork to back it up or help those who weren't in. We were told to write "no signature". Though no mention if that applied for SD.twoloops wrote:I had a woman refuse the use the PDA for 1 o'clock special today, so ticked refused & took it back to office, what's the official stance?
The World Health Org say the virus is behaving like other Corona viruses, and suspected that it can survive on surfaces from a few hours to a few days, but not fully confirmed.

Anyone who is in isolation should be doing so, ie, not chatting or speaking to postie.
Also the economy is more important than a few hundred lives, that would be the official capitalist stance. Move along, nothing to see here.

But where is the proof that they’ve given permission? I wouldn’t like to bet my job on the off-chance that someone might decide to act in bad faith and claim their Special Delivery hadn’t arrived, especially when it'll be quite apparent that it was signed for on my PDA.sicknote25 wrote:Had rhe same, asked manager and we have been told as long as they give permission we can sign for them??twoloops wrote:I had a woman refuse the use the PDA for 1 o'clock special today, so ticked refused & took it back to office, what's the official stance?

Have these other countries that have gone into ''lock down'' suspended postal deliveries? Or at least all non-urgent deliveries?
Given the virus can apparently survive on a hard surface for at least 72 hours it seems a bit pointless having lock downs, quarantines and self isolation's if we're still popping letters, catalogues and pkts through peoples doors on a daily basis.
