Doms and the Royal Mail savings plan
Our manager is a decent bloke and has told me him and alot of the DOMS are pissed off with all the cuts in delivery. Our cluster manager introduced payments of 5 hrs for working your day off so now no full timers will do it, every week is a struggle to cover the duties.Does anybody else have experience of managers against the current business plans? We had a manager covering today and he said he wished he could vote for a strike as well.

I think to be fair most of the scrotums have got the hump about whats going on.
But then i look back over the years that i've been here and remember what these guys have done to me and my collegues.
And i say TOUGH! earn your wages and have all the stress you cocks.
Sorry but thats how i feel.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

yeah I agree with you concerning the most of them, like I said our boss is the best one we've had, very open with us and trys to ignore alot of the crap foisted on us by management.I just thought it interesting that, unlike disputes in the past,I think some of the bosses are hoping that alot of the proposed changes are kicked into touch.
The only good thing about the overtime cuts is seeing gaffers from other offices having to come and deliver walks with their faces on the floor

a short time back one of our more friendly screws told me that they were all having to apply for their own jobs and many simply wouldn't get them. The ones who didn't would be bumped down grades or even returned to uniform. Their union started a call for strike action and Royal Mail only backed down when we started to do the same.
Of course Royal Mail can't have both workers and screws out at once that would look too bad in the press.
But hang on, that means that our screws were willing to strike to get what they thought right. . . . the same screws who are now telling us we can't strike because of the effect it would have on the firm
I believe most of them feel the same as we do. . . .they're just not allowed to say it

Many of these DOMs will cross picket lines in a dispute they are not Managers they are yes men!!
See how many are taking out delivery walks due to lack of hours in their budgets.
They believe in the law of the Jungle survival of the fittest their no better than Animals.

This has been merely postponed, not due to the imminent strike, but because the directors want them to push through the efficiency savings, then they'llbillypants wrote:a short time back one of our more friendly screws told me that they were all having to apply for their own jobs and many simply wouldn't get them. be back!
On this note,i can only speak for my office, but our line manager spends more time on the shopfloor(tipping mail, external missorts,etc..)than
actually assisting the manager! :Confused
