savings? not quite in the blue shirts hands is it

Post by aida webb »

I know that any company is after making savings but blue shirts are only capable of contributing a small porportion towards that target. i.e. sick abscence, overtime etc. The real savings targets are made more reachable by Royal Mail managers.
The floor managers at our office are definitely not motivated towards that target. For an office of just under 100 staff we have a DOM, two line managers and two cover managers. Not uncommon to have four managers in the office that week, the same number of first aiders we have. They normally manage to claim at least five hours a week overtime each, yet go home on a saturday at 9.30 and 10.30 respectively. Don't get me wrong, i am not typing the post to simply have a dig at RM managers, but Royal Mail have dangled this saving bonus in front of us and we are not the one's capable of ensuring savings are met. I'd rather have a bonus based on my personal sorting/prep rate, a bonus capable of reaching.

Good idea it would certainly speed up the posties on my alley that cant seem to "sort & talk". They complain that the other sections are finished IPS before us but don't think they are at least partly at fault.

Their time will come.....

Don't you worry about them, they can hardly kick their arses while the managers are told to kick our arses.
When we've been hit then they will return for them.
Here's a bit i posted up in our News Forum, you get it all here on RMC :Very Happy

THEIR TIME WILL COME
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

At our office we're getting bored of being told "that's a different budget" when we suggest cutting managers to save money rather than constantly looking at us.

But, like POSTMAN says " their time will come " , lets just hope it's not too far away.
