Hi All, I’m a newbie on here. I would like to apply for a postwoman job with driving. All adverts state you need a full UK driving license. Is it allowed to work there with a full driving license from EU?
I’ve been driving on my Polish license here in UK for many years and no problems with anything.
Do I need to swap my license to UK one? (I know it’s fairly easy at a Post Office, but if I don’t get invited to the interview or don’t get a job, I don’t want to swap it in vain as it is much harder to get your Polish license back)

In theory, it should be ok as the Polish/Eu and the UK licence are the same, at the moment.
However, I think they ask for a UK one because it will have your UK address for background checks et.
Then there is also the consideration with Brexit and whether the UK/EU will accept each others driving licences.
I would ask at some point during the process, but it may be prudent to change it anyway.

EU driving license for the job
It NEEDS to be a UK driving licence with your usual address that you have other correspondence at like bank statements, bills ect for security checks. I have recently just asked dvla to get revoke my bus and class 1 licence (ill health) and they were really quick. I think their target date for changing licences is 10 working days so the sooner you change the better. Good luck btw.
