It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I heard at old rep mention it in a big union meeting we had with the DOM about 1 year ago. Apparently its so you can go to the toilet and ummm make your self comfortable before you go out on deliveries. Not sure if its official but I am sure someone will tell us on here.

Comfort break
In our office we call it a grace break and yes it is allowed so that you can have a cup of tea before you go out on your walk.

Every postman is legally entitled to a forty minute meal break within an eight hour shift. It is every manager's responsibility to ensure that at least a twenty minute break is taken, away from the sorting office floor, before leaving the office. What's the point of not taking a break that you are legally entitled to. Check it out with your rep. Info available on the web.
