No board but whenever the Lino says that the Volume is down he gets drowned out by hoots of derision. It may be down in Mail Centres but it sure isn't on the walks.

our dom had the best explanation I've heard yet when I claimed my pouches are heavier than ever
He said we are indeed processing less items than this time last year, it's just that those items are bigger than they were last year therefore it seems heavier.
I don't care how many letters there are in my bag. . if I've got more bags and each one is breaking my back it's gonna take me longer to get round. . . so cut the spin Royal Mail and poke your 6 into 5 summer duties

Lies, Damn Lies, Statistics and Royal Mail Traffic figures................more likely to believe George W. Bush will be first man on mars. Done most TFS systems, tray counts, box counts (IWM), stream-weighing etc. Being simple Delivery Postman go back to easy method. When first joined had one at most two pouches. Now have six to seven most days..........still nostalgic for first team-brief when the fax machine was going to replace post. Somehow no-one has yet figured out how to get packets over internet without having them physically delivered........or perhaps we're all imagining any increase in packets? pad

packets ?
Which is another good point. . . . how do you all deal with the increased packet numbers ?
We have to take any that we can't physically fit into our pouches up to a screw and get him to stamp it "large packet" then put it out for afternoon (van) delivery.
Trouble is it's down to the screw on the day and what mood he's in to decide if it's acceptably "large"
What's large one day or for one person can be "you can get that in your bag, don't take the piss" on another
USE THAT VOTE

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We are alot further down the line than most with all the changes we have to impliment and we now start later too. Believe me , we are f***ing manic most of the time! We have some nutters starting 2 hours before their due time to make sure the can still "get a flyer."We are and have always been a heavy D.O but believe me i`m praying the "light" summer period stops soon

Down to the driver gaz, although my guys aint too bad and in all fairness my own guy is a diamond, there's a lot of 2 faced posties out there.
My last office was really bad,how one bloke slpet at night was beyond me,he would refuse to take stuff one week on driving
then throw out smaller stuff the next week on his walk.

Same here.I can get my walk in 6 bags depending on pkts.Today I had 8 bags and my latest finish of the week.Saturdays and Fridays are the worst days of the week for us now.Tues are light and Mondays we hardly get any pkts so theyre easier.redvan wrote:the post in our office is heavy every day but come a sat and you would think that it was the last post for a month wher you would carry 5 bags during the week you are carrying 7 on a sat the dom tells us qwe are lossing mail to t,n,t and d.h.l tyhat must be the only companies that they can think off
