You mean you haven't seen the training video?...
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Best way to load
It's always difficult till you know the route well. I load each post code in three or four different areas and then use the manifest to make sure I don't miss any stops whilst on delivery.

Once you get your own route and get to know it then you can load it how you will drive it and it becomes second nature , but it's tougher being a spare as you go from route to route . If you know the route you are gonna be driving beforehand then ask the regular driver how e would do it.

Re: Best way to load
When i was a spare on loads of different routes I used to load in postcode sectors, then just sort each sector out in A, B, C, order for the second part of the postcode.
Its not ideal but at least you have a clue where it might be.

Re: Best way to load
The best way that worked for me was to load the van myself. The loaders in the depot load to each individual route,ie in sector order laid out by the driver. When I covered hols, sweeper routes etc I'd load the parcels in alphabetical order, for example as you open the side door all roads that start with 'A' would be nearest the bulkhead along the rightside of the van 'L,M,N' would be near the rear doors an 'Z' or timed would be placed along the leftside near the sidedoor. And work of the manfest,I found it easier to find address's,as some sectors would be busier than others.
I am now on bulk deliveries and load it in drop order, well sort of.
I hope this helps, worked for me.
