I Has A Question
I was employed by PF as a Saturday worker on a six month contract that has recently been extended until October so far and have been working 60+ hours per week ad hoc including the 8 contracted. What sort of holiday hours am I accruing?

Re: I Has A Question
ad hoc- lower rate, and no holiday pay for those. You will be paid still 8 houres a week. Speak to CWU to negotiate those 52 extra houres to be turned into scheduled. If during those 52 houres you do someones duty there is ruling that you should be payed same rate- speak to CWU. Ad hoc overtime rate is lowered then scheduled so baisicly they are ripping you off your money. If not member and CWU will refuse to help join it.White Van wrote:I was employed by PF as a Saturday worker on a six month contract that has recently been extended until October so far and have been working 60+ hours per week ad hoc including the 8 contracted. Example- I've been with company for several yars. Scheduled for 40 houres a week. I did at least 45 houres a week. when I was off holiday I was paid 40 houres only- I'm entilted to 30 days paid holiday plus all bank holidays. Compare to my collegue who worked scheduled 45 a week I was paid 38 houres less holiday pay a year (ab 400 quid).
There was employment tribunal ruling that this practise is unfair and maybe one day RM will kindly give those affected refund. If not there is always legal options. Just don't put yourself at risk of not having your contract extended in October (they will extend it as that's start of Xmass peak)

Re: I Has A Question
Forgot about another scam- for the first 6 or 3 months you are at the lower pay- to keep the budget low there ware managers offering OT to newbes as they cost the busines less.
Yes- we are only pay number that generates figures for managers, money for shareholders and bonuses for management

Re: I Has A Question
The main route that I've been covering has been an OD route mainly and mopping up as and when. There's a sniff of some FT routes coming up in the near future (source, face to face with the depot manager yesterday) so I don't want to rock the boat. I have no issue with joining CWU in the meantime.ctpunk wrote:ad hoc- lower rate, and no holiday pay for those. You will be paid still 8 houres a week. Re: I Has A Question
this bussiness will not exist without drivers- apply for permanent route when possible to make them unable to get rid of you
