You're right.

"Post Office strike called off

1st November 2013

A strike by Post Office staff planned for Monday, November 4, has been called off after a letter from CEO Paula Vennells committed the Post Office to resolve the long-running dispute over pay and job security with a series of intensive talks commencing next week.

The union's postal executive met this afternoon (Friday) to discuss this development and took the decision to suspend Monday's strike in order to focus on achieving a resolution through these talks.

"In her letter, Paula Vennells commits to authorising whatever resource is needed to evaluate areas where we can move towards concluding an agreement," explained national official Andy Furey.
"After seven months and twelve rounds of industrial action we are pleased the Post Office is finally accepting responsibility for this dispute and coming to the table with serious intentions to find a resolution once and for all," he said.

Two days of intensive talks are planned for next week. Members will be updated of any further progress made.

Staff in the country's network of 372 Crown Post Offices have not had a pay rise since April 2011 as a result of a company-wide pay freeze and face an uncertain future as a result of the Post Office's transformation plans which will cut 20% of the Crown Post Office network resulting in 1,500 job losses.

Members in Supply Chain and Admin functions were also due to strike on Monday for the first time over pay after a ballot returned a 78% vote in favour of strike action.
Both strike actions have been withdrawn and no strike will take place on Monday (November 4th)."
