Hello

Post by side_door »

I have only just found this forum and I am delighted that I have.

How come I have never even heard of it before?

Anyways, I have been a postman for just about 5 years. I used to love the job, and occassionally when I'm out delivering I still do, but I'm not at all happy with the way Royal Mail is conducting itself as an employer these days.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

How things are going.

You cannot be unaware of the strings attached to the latest pay offer (if it is even worth dignifying it with the name).

Well on Tuesday our office rep told us that the Nottingham area is pushing ahead with those strings, regardless of the negotiations on pay. They intend to bring in later start times and all the rest of it in June and impose the new terms through "executive action".

We were told that we would be balloted separately for industrial action, begining the 15th of this month.

As for the rest, a lot of people in our office are unhappy at the lack of overtime which they previously relied upon, and our current managers penny pinching attitude - still I suppose that's pretty common. Personally, I cut off everyday when I can, that certainly included today.

Day off tommorrow - thank god.
