Why can't we...

Post by armani »

Hi folks, why can't we get on with our jobs, i.e. what they are now. Surpassing business objectives giving customers a good deal on products previously not available at a P.O. counter and saving the future of the business and future staff to come?

Can we have honest answers as to what holds us back please.

is it, confidence, capability, not wanting to do that type of job, lack of manager support (have you asked for it)

Lets all face it, CHANGE is a massive part for any industry these days although a thing almost everyone must go through to be successful.

What holds us back from embracing change and moving on within the business.

Yes I know its gone with the days of cashing benefits, and getting queues under 5mins to make our clients happy.

So why cant we stand on our own feet and grasp what we are now moving towards?

I'm not a Manager, a CWU member.

However, I go to work to do whats asked to earn a wage.
I hear a lot of negatives coming from other offices and would just like to know why it is.
I find that we always have conversed with our customers, so if we can do them a good deal within that conversation it keeps them happy and also gives a bit of self satisfaction that we are doing our bit to help our customers get the best of whats available.

Had a customer last week that saved over £100 on Home insurance, they came back to my office (waited in the queue) just to thank me for what they had received.

Yes, he seems to have a bad taste in his mouth over something.

I am looking to gain some honest feedback from above, please dont feel it neccessary to flame me due to your own personal ''problems'' with management.

I don't have a personal problem with management. I just hate every single one of them. It's no problem at all. I trust you about as far as I could throw a grand piano.

If you work in a B O and a CWU member, then you would know over the years what the business have done to the Post Office.
So why cant we stand on our own feet and grasp what we are now moving towards?

Because of what the Business is doing to the Business, are you one of the Smith 70+

What they are doing to not only the workers but customers is a joke.
The WHOLE network is f****d because of what the Business has done to the Business and what the Government has done to it as well.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Not on any drugs, I'm amazed at how we as a company haven't moved on in the last 3-4 yrs.

Imagine if we were a private company. Or a Single business unit i.e. 1 building, we'd have been out on our ear 2-3 yrs ago due to the loss we have been making.

Isn't it time we at least made a go of it and at least helped POL make money instead of taking cash and not helping contribue towards what really makes the bucks, its like we've been taking candy from kids for the ladt 3-4 yrs.

POSTMAN, I work in a C.O. not a B.O. Crown office now ol' chap. What are they doing to customers? The management dont serve them, The only thing i see wrong with what the customers get is, in many offices is not a good deal, if we were letting more of them know what we are offering we'd be getting many more loyal and satisfied customers PLUS more job satisfaction, after all isn't that what we are there for, to provide a good level of customer satisfaction

I have to say, I concur on what you have wrote here. Too many years of Govt. taking back more than what they put in. Unfortunately Labour are getting the thick end of it now.
