It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Wow thanks for your replies!!!!

I applied over the weekend via the internet.
So my first impression before I found the site or why im drawn in, is being part of a great team and huge workforce. Ive worked for a company of 40 before and I just loved the banta and atmosphere. It was a repetitive job what most would call boring but I loved it for the people. I enjoy being physical rather than my present casual job, im sat at a desk and it drives me crazy! hence my main reason for applying.

Ive read quite a few post's and some of the managers sound crappy.

Im hoping I get to the interview stage and fingers crossed I will make a good impression:wink: When I completed the application it gave no other information as to when I would be contacted or who to contact so I am well ahead of myself being on here.

Working as a casual, is this the only way RM. take on new staff? and then offer you employment on a regular basis if you prove yourself after a certain time period.

CASUAL

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

I started as a Christmas casual. Offerred a part time contract and then applied for a full time job when a barsteward of a duty came up. Takes a long time , probably even longer now though. But stick at it, enjoy the banter and get on well with the other posties around you and you should do ok.
