Has anybody got any idea how this is worked out ?
I understood this was to buy additional years under the old final salary scheme by paying additional contributions up to 15% of wages (i.e 6% for standard scheme plus 9% addplan).
However I appear to have wrongly assumed that it was like for like i.e worked for 12 months ,the addplan contributions for that period bought another 12 months final salary pension contributions.
Is there any weblink, calculation out there that tells me how Royal Mail work this out ?

The only link I found was this: http://royalmailpensionplan.co.uk/21/addplan" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but it tells you nothing I'm afraid.
As I understand it, Addplan contributions will depend on your age when you start them, what your earnings are and how many years you want to buy. Your best bet would be to phone or email the pensions centre for more info.
The limit of 15% of pay does not apply anymore, you can now save in theory, 100% of your pay per year into a pension.
