The motherwell three

Post by k1d »

Today at the Mail cente in motherwell we took part in an unofficial strike 3 of our drivers turned up at the main mail cenre in glasgow to be confronted by a picket line apprently the strike in glasgow had started early when our drivers refused to go through the picket line and returned to motherwell they were instructed by the management that they were to be suspended when out union man was informed of this a meeting was called where it was put to a vote either we would pay the 3 guys who had been suspended from out pockets or we would would walk out in protest at the treatment our drivers were recieving only 4 people in the office voted to pay the drivers out of our pockets so at 07:45 we walked out our union rep tried to negotiate but was asked to leave just before i left to come home we were told by our union rep that unless its resolved we may be out tomorow as well

Heard the story this morning, but it was a bit vague on the details, thanks for posting this,I must say that unless this is handled very carefully by the CWU and Royal Mail, this could be it,the start of a national all out strike, thats my opinion anyone else?

You may be right but the Union seem so worried about unofficial action Dave Wards probably on the way up there as we speak.. He went to Oxford when that went unofficial.

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN IN FAVOR OF AN ALL OUT STRIKE BUT WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL, THIS IS WHAT RM WANT {UNOFFICAL ACTION } WE HAVE KNOWN FOR A WHILE THAT THE SCREWS HAVE TRIED TO GET US TO WALK UNOFFICALY THEN THEY CAN TAKE THE CWU TO TASK. I KNOW ITS HARD WHEN YOU ARE PROVOKED BUT SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO BITE YOUR LIP. WE CAN AND WILL WIN THIS DISPUTE IF WE CONTINUE TO BE STRONG AND DONT FALL FOR THE DIRTY TRICKS. :cfo :lfo :cfo :lfo ONWARDS AND UPWARDS

He was called there by Leighton and Crozier who did RM's talking.

Took the words right out of my mouth Ulster Postie,RM are dead keen to get us out on an unofficial strike, they have been trying so hard at our office to stir the lads/lasses up but they have been very good and not taken the bait.

Where and When its all gonna end...i aint got a clue.

went in to work today and everything seemed to fine till around about 8 this morning when it became common knowledge that some of the drivers on the night shift had went to glasgow and refused to cross the picket but that nothing had been said to them like the other drives so it was only the day shoft who had there payt abated so back to the picket it also the evening times is reporting that the unofficial strikeing has spread to 13 different mail centres dreading when we have to deliver it thats mail left over from monday tuesday wednesday and because of the cwu strike thursdays mail as well dunno whats gonna happen on friday
