Spare a thought for our European collegues.
TNT Post have announced there could be 11,000 job losses including compulsory redundancies,a two and a half year pay freeze and a reduction in labour conditions for the people staying behind.
Unions have reacted angrily to the plans. "Delivery workers are at the bottom of the jobs market and a reduction in salary is non-discussable".
Deutsche Post said in December it won't eliminate any German jobs in 2007 as workers are protected by contract until 2008.
But what happens after that? And what about the rest of Europe?
