Hows this for taking the piss

Post by Cybitech »

I know a few posties, who in their spare time deliver leaflets for LIDL stores, which are actually distributed to LIDI by TNT, therefore they are delivering leaflets for the competition as well.

Ah, but that's the joys of competition, my friend. If your employer pays out so much in fat bonuses for inept managers that there's not enough left over to give you a decent increase, you have to make your money up in whatever ways you can

Nowt wrong with that. Welcome to Consumerism. Anyway our argument is with the bosses of Royal Mail not with the competition. Deutsch Post and TNT workers are facing the same problems we are in their own countries.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Are you sure about this as I thought there was nothing in about second jobs except that Royal Mail should take priority or something.

just started delivering a free newspaper. if we ever have leaflets we will be paid 25p per 100 so our rate of pay isn`t too bad afterall.

Bit of an illogical argument for Royal Mail to attempt to use, though. Imagine how that would look on Channel 4 news (or in front of an unfair dismissal tribunal) if a postie got sacked for delivering Lidl leaflets distributed by TNT....

JOHN SNOW: So Royal Mail sacked you for delivering a competitors leaflets ?
POSTIE: Yes, John
JOHN SNOW: But, wait a minute, hasn't competition been introduced in the postal industry ?
POSTIE: Yes, John
JOHN SNOW: And don't these competitors collect bulk mailings and introduce them into the Royal Mail network under arrangements known as DownStream Access ?
POSTIE: Yes, John
JOHN SNOW: So, what you are saying is, posties everywhere deliver your competitors' mail on a daily basis ?
POSTIE: Yes, John
JOHN SNOW: Aren't your bosses complete boneheads, then ?
POSTIE: YES, JOHN Image

No. The word 'job' implies gainful employment so he's alright. He's just a parasite.
