Am I alone in being fed up with the political correctness that exists in both Royal Mail and the CWU?
I suppose it all started way back with the WTL sessions being hi-jacked by the 'Dignity and Respect' brigade. Then you had those ridiculous Draw Groups and having various events to 'celebrate' ethnic diversity in our multicultural society, etc
Then you have the union giving some of our subs to some cause in Columbia, not to mention what seems to amount to an obsession with defeating all things BNP despite the fact that it`s a legitimate political party, all be it an extremist one, existing in what is (the last time I looked) a democracy.
I feel these energies would have been put to better use focusing on beating the competition and making sure we all have secure jobs. Just my opinion of course....
I hate the BNP too, but what today's PC brigade don't seem to realise is that they are so far off the beam from the layman that the BNP are exploiting the gap that they have created. The days of the PC brigade are numbered. MARK MY WORDS--------A KAWAK KORRECT KWAK

The so-called 'PC Brigade' are another set of middle-class liberals who do nothing to further anyone's cause except their own. I doubt the BNP are capable of exploiting any gap except the one between their members ears. Apart from loonies who voted a handful of councillors into the town halls of a few northern mill towns and that idiot on the Isle of Dogs about 15 years ago, intelligent people have them well sussed. No sane person sends razor blades through the post to Jewish people or gets lifted by the police for having bomb making equipment in their homes or denies the murder of millions of Jews took place within living memory or thinks the colour of someones skin or place of birth should be a crime is worth anyones vote. The only thing which divides us is our class.

The BNP are not capable of filling any gap, but they can convince brainless idiots to vote for them who have not got two brain cells to rub together, which then leaves them to carry out their moronic practices whilst masquerading as a local councillor.

I hope you`re right mate. I believe that the only purpose the BNP have served is to bring the issue of immigration into the limelight. It wasn`t so long ago that this issue was one politicians dare not mention. Now this is accepted as a major issue.
I`ve always been a labour voter but for me, this is the main failure of Blairs years in power.

All this political correctness is a huge steaming pile of festering dog turd. We're all entitled to our own opinions, unless of course that opinion differs from the PC tossers.
As for the union giving aid to some struggle or whatever in some far off country. Exactly WTF has that got to do with fighting for better terms and conditions for its members. f**k ALL!! And don't be poncing off to rallies waving OUR union flag giving the impression you speak for us all. You wanna go off to rallies then fine, go, but don't take any union related stuff with you as you do NOT speak for all the members!
The union is there to benefit its members, nothing more. It's not there to cure cancer or stop all wars. So stop wasting OUR time and OUR money doing so!

I'm in one of those Northern Mill Towns and you never hear of the BNP outside of election time.

I'll never be a fan of so-called political correctness, but I have to smile whenever I hear someone going on about it as though every ailment the country suffers from is down to people like Germaine Greer or Martin Bashir and their kind. When most of these people attack 'political correctness' what they really mean is they miss the days when they could stereotype entire countries and races. These myopic morons with their small minded bigotry miss the days when it was quite acceptable to label the Irish as thick, Scots, Welsh or Yorkshire people as tight fisted, Orientals as devious, Africans or West Indians as lazy, etc, etc. These idiots fall into the divide and rule trap which benefits no one except the bosses, and it dehumanises people in much the same was as black people in the southern states or Jews in Nazi Germany were dehumanised.
As for immigration, well, that's just about everyone in these islands. There was a very good programme on Channel 4 a few months ago. They had a group of people who were all quite patriotic and who all appeared to be white. One nugget thought Ian Wright could not be English because he is black. The fact that Wright was very proud to have played football for his country didn't matter. This person said Wright should not be considered English unless he could trace his English ancestry back for twelve generations. They took DNA from this man which showed his own Englishness only went back three generations and he was a mixture of different races. One woman was quite upset to find she was actually a Romany, another man's family came from the far east and so on. There was one lad who was very proud to be English and was joining the army. When it was shown he was part African, he wasn't bothered at all and said "I can see how it might upset a racist, but it doesn't bother me." So it doesn't do to shake a British family tree too much because probably only the aristocracy can trace themselves back as far as the Normans, and the aristocracy are inbred anyway.

Now norfolk and suffolk The Iceni And the Druids from the NW of wot now is wales.. There were other tribes up north And scotland and North of Ireland The Picts That no one knows really where they came from as it is a form of Celtic But spoke a mix of Of 2 different Celtic groups.. P and Q celtic, The P Celts 4TH CENT were Settlers in North of scotland and Q Celts came to scotland thu Ireland..6TH CENT. Both spoke in a language , Ogham. symbols on stones.. This is just the Start.. After this we all have a mass influx of peoples from bronze age to Anglo saxons.. That most BRITISH people see as How we are today from... The Anglo saxons and all the other tribes interbred so basiclly WHO ARE WE??? If anyone can trace there family back past the 4th cent then good luck to ya but most if all of us are mongrels!!! Thats without the asian and african mix in our make ups.......
We have now reached the point where every goon with a grievance, every bitter bigot, merely has to place the prefix, 'I know this is not politically correct, but...' in front of the usual string of insults in order to be not just safe from criticism, but actually a card, a lad, even a hero. Conversely, to talk about poverty and inequality, to draw attention to the reality that discrimination and injustice are still facts of life, is to commit the sin of political correctness. I come from a long line of yorkshire farmers in the wharfdale area! Some of my ancestors can be found in the Landed Gentry section of Burkes Peerage. Some can be found in the areas with viking names suggesting possible viking ancestors.
