Sick pay

I have just fallen foul of the RM new sick policy.
Had a day off in Jan due to flu, then two days in Feb with gout although I took these as annual leave as I didn’t want to be out of pocket.
I have now had to have time off due to a hospital stay due to food poisoning.
I am aware that I will lose two days pay where I’m confused is that I only got paid for 29hrs I’m normally 37hrs.
But I also had £100 taken off my wage too any ideas what this is for is it because of the two days getting taken off.
Had a fantastic sick record up until this it’s quite easy now to fall foul of it.

Like you mate I’m potentially going to be in the same situation soon as I had a week off on the sick about 3 weeks ago and now I’m having the toenail on my big toe permanently removed soon and will be off for another week.

Up until now it was literally years since I was last on the sick and don’t really understand how sick pay works these days.

Not for every week you have off.
1st absence, all paid.
2nd absence, first two days off unpaid.
3rd absence, first four days unpaid.
All other absences, first three days unpaid.

So if I was to be off work on the sick for say 2 weeks for my 2nd absence I’d just lose 2 days pay for the 2 weeks or 4 days(2 days for each week)?

As far as I know, it’s in a year.

Yes it's a year so afaik when you go off for your op if it's over a year since you first went off last year you shouldn't lose any pay but also bear in mind your attendance review stage started from when they issued it on your return to work so you're going to end up being issued with another if it's before mid January next year.

(I assume having something severe like a heart op doesn't feature in RM's caring attitude to be exempt from having either pay docked or stages being issued)

You'll probably end up with a warning so might as well take off as long as possible. What a great system.

Sounds like the heart op might come under the Equality Act which should be discounted. Maybe.

How does it work if you work less than 5 days a week? What if you only work 3 or 4 days?
If you work 3 days a week and you are off 3 times, do you owe them a days pay?
