System won't let me book holiday carry over

Post by lancashire »

I carried a weeks holiday over from last year.
The system will let me book it before 31st August but not after.
Manager has been in a game of ping pong with HR and getting nowhere.
Anybody had similar issues?

Yes. RM decided near the start of the year that all carried over leave must be taken before Sept 1st.
They're within their rights to enforce this, any employer can say when their employees take leave. But they are also legally bound to give you any leave owing. So they've now only got 3 weeks that they can give you that leave.

I think I read on here that someone said you can use your carried over leave first to get round this issue (obviously your manager has to do that when they input your leave and presumably it has to be before August 31st)

So if that's true only advice I can think of is have you by any chance got any leave booked in the next three weeks,if so can they cancel it off and rebook it using your carry over leave ?
