Proposal for senior CWU and MGMT and Poll.
Its clear that we are in a pickle. I think its pretty clear that the reason we are in this pickle is because the decision makers on both sides of the house have little to no experience of deliveries. At least not in the last 20 years. How can they truly have any empathy for what is happening in deliveries if they do not know what it feels like. How can they find a path out if they don't know what is happening.
I propose that Ward, Walsh, Bouch et al and all area reps and div reps are placed on deliveries for 2 weeks. Used as reserves and directed by the COM as if they were normal OPGs. No special treatment.
I suspect it would be a real eye opener and might just provide the insight that is needed. It's obvious they are not listening to what posties are actually telling them so I think they need to come and see it for themselves.

Yes they could definitely spare a couple of weeks away from biscuit munching and see what we face on the daily.

They know exactly what’s happening on delivery, the issue is the company are reluctant to fund and resource it to the level that’s needed because it will wipe out the USO millions they want to save.Ren Hoëk wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025, 18:46Its clear that we are in a pickle. I'd say a month then it would really ram it home what they so quickly forgot what it was like.

I don’t get this ‘ they aren’t in the real world, those above us know nothing about delivery etc.’ They all know what’s happening, they just don’t give a fcuk. Back in the real world, we get on with it or leave, that’s the two options on the table, fully endorsed by such people.

It's pointless.
Managers know the deal. They will tell anyone and everyone that they are too slow just to keep us under pressure. They don't actually believe what they are saying 95% of the time, it's all a facade to make us rush round like Usain Bolt.

Good point
I would like to see Tony Bouch out there delivering 50 tracked items an hour! The gulf between a clear strategy by RM and the CWU and what is reality widens every time someone behind a desk makes assumptions on what is "manageable" on the ground without ever experiencing it. Having all the top reps spend time on deliveries is brilliant because it would restore some credibility on what we do and they wouldn't just hear about delivery pressures from us - they would feel them!
But it's not going to happen is it?? Every time I'm under pressure from a manager about workloads I often ask them to come out with me and I will prove that the work cannot be done in the time and every time they always back down making some sort of excuse as to why they can't go out on delivery. And that is the problem right there. Because they know that we are often right but have no other recourse than to try and bully and harass people into doing a job that they clearly don't want to do themselves...

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

What workers need is the data releasing. Its all there. Every PDA tracking every second. You could send the lazy bag avoiding CWU officials out but they"d do nothing with what they found out. Get the data out, up in every workplace. Empower us not CWU officials.

This, but he’s to get everything done within 12k steps - after all, that’s what he thinks you guys do. If he walks more than 12k he’s clearly being inefficient (conduct route).postslippete wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025, 07:19
