DPRs being removed and oversize going back onto core duties?

Post by Jaggs »

Today are DOM has told us that when the USO reform is implemented in our office the oversize parcels will go back to the core routes and DPRs will be taken out of our office. Is this what has happened in trial offices?

It’s happened in our office and we are not a trial office, with the full blessing of the CWU. Staff struggling to cope/complete nearly every day. It’s a complete shambles.

Same as another reply, we take out everything, mail, packets and oversize since I started, would feel like a luxery having the oversize taken off us

Never had over sized removed either and we are a trial office. Parcels amounts in our office are not achievable any longer.

There's no mention of a DPR role on the USO leaflet, such a role doesn't seem to exist under the ODM?

DPR is no more under the proposed model, too many people going over the ground especially on the 2 walks someone is just doing tracked and 1st class on.

The big unknown is what will happen when PF gets merged into RM. Will there be dedicated rounds based out of the current PF depots or will they expect deliveries to take out all the current PF stuff?

The parcel force man who does the area I deliver in told me, they already started taking our oversized parcels, but I haven’t noticed a drop tbh.

I know it's nuts isn't it, surely RM knows what their plan is, even they must have one.

I don't know if it's relevant but just checked the RM jobs site and there's quite a few parcelforce vacancies

Parcelforce are taking all sizes at the moment but mainly big stuff ,
The volumes are increasing every week and we have recently taken on four more drivers and even more jobs advertised ,
Been told to expect a lot more parcels to arrive over the coming months .

Thanks, that'll help us DPR drivers.

And on topic - no talk of removing our DPRs.
