I suspect she jumped, because EP were happy for her to come over from the old structure.

I wonder if she knows that this is going to get nasty and doesnt want anything to do with it. Given that Simon Thompson was essentially outed as an idiot and pretty much had a break down. Id certainly be walking away if it were me and wanted to keep my reputation in one piece.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Just goes to show... how retarded the company is...
So.many CEO resignations... over the last few years..

Board directors also handing in their notice...

The board of directors must be at each other's throats..

Nasty as hell.....

There must be untold conflict in that room....

Maybe they have realised delivery staff... are human beings..as are the board directors....

A fair day's work for a fair day's pay..
Not fookin tortured to death in delivery.. for the minimum wage...

I really don't know how they sleep at night...

And as for that billionaire bloke... money obviously rules him..
There is only so many boats. Yaughts. Mansions... cars... property..
Gold.. silver... diamonds. Jets.. planes.. helicopters.. and the rest of the bullshit.. he can buy....

Clearly something not right there...

Anyone else want them to bring Thompson back for sh***s and giggles? Watching Ward squirm sat next to him talking about “resetting” relations and a “new fresh approach” would send me into orbit. You just know Ward would do it.

Simon wasn’t outed or ousted. It was more a case that his job and brief were both done. His reign saw the union stronghold irrevocably broken. Arguably it is only because of the progress made under his stewardship that EP Group has taken full ownership.

She was so quiet in the role that the only times I have even remembered she occupied the big chair were her appointment and her resignation. Compare with ST who seemed to compulsively post on Workplace all day every day, presumably just to bait someone into punching his face during the dispute.

I doubt the business world considered he did a successful job given he's taken a job with some obscure drone(?) company rather than a another major UK company, does any CEO leave RM in a good light?

I think it depends on how you judge his success.

It’s called taking it easy following a difficult brief. All high-flying executives do it. He might have earned enough crust from his RM gig to call it a day anyway. He may supplement his income with a few non-exec roles like others of his ilk do.

Thomson was humiliated, thought he was indispensable, got thrown off workplace, then put on gardening leave, taking the rest of his 600k salary in silence. He left in disgrace, he took a year off, nobody wanted him, even as a FTSE 100 CEO, ended settling for nascent developing business. Great success!
