Paternity

Post by stan_lers »

Apologies if this is the wrong forum to ask in but wasn't sure where else to post.

My wife and I are trying for a baby at the moment (well, not right this moment), and I know that I would be entitled to two weeks paternity leave. However, the guidelines say that it has to be taken in one block.

The issue is that I work in engineering and as part of my rota I have a week off every 4. If the baby arrived the week before my week off, would that mean that I can only take one week, or would it carry on after my week off?

That week is essentially my weekends rolled into one, so I imagine I would be able to split paternity leave either side, but I just wanted clarification ahead of time.

Just start it when it is best for you. As long as you do it within the first 56 days of the baby being born.

You can take either 1 or 2 weeks’ leave. If you choose to take 2 weeks, you can take them together or separately.

That’s statutory for all companies not just RM.
