35 hour contract at 12.54 ph. Offer letter says 26k?

Post by Deant92 »

Hi joining in couple of weeks. I'm on a 35 hour contract at 12.54 an hour but my letter offering me the role is saying 26k a year this doesn't add up as 35 hours over the year is 23k something. Any help greatly appreciated

The salary quoted in the letter is based on full time 40 hours a week. RM letters were worded like that when I joined in 2012 and they're still showing it now. Misleading to say the least

OK thank you for response. Would it be safe to say you could pick up 5 hours overtime a week?

I left two years ago so can't give an accurate answer, and it would depend on the situation at the office you work at, but I'd expect you can.

Whether there is overtime or not, isn't connected to the info in the letter. That is just down to how RM do things!

Yeah mine was same on a 30hr, no idea why they can't just give you your actual salary on the contract.. if you want extra hours there's normally plenty of overtime after you finish your normal hours doing the oversized parcels, I do bout 8 hours a week and work a day or two on my rest week if they are short staffed..

No worries if can pick up 5 hours make the wage that 26k I'm happy enough tbh. As the earlier finishes sound good. I dont mind doing a few hours over time when needed would rather work overtime when in than go in rest day but will help

Our office we work six days for 5 weeks then have a 'rest' week off, so even if I go in for one or two days I still get few days off

Fair enough then I think mine is 5 days out of 7 so maybe Sunday and another day that week. I'm guessing going by the info. What sort of wage does the 30 hours pull in if you don't mind me asking
