Test letters failed miserably, take your 1st class

Post by dazzler123 »

This is what we were told today, have to take all your first class letters due to appaling test letter delivery. So when does the 2nd class stuff get delivered? The revisions are aparrently going great according to RM, but mail failing as you epect, but revisions are going great.

working with agency staff is great, dont leave the office till after 10.30am. but everythings great, as agency will do the job as good as us with a smile on their face for less T&Cs. Everythings great

As SP (I think) has previously mentioned there is no difference between 1st and 2nd class once it's finally dispatched
on the final leg to a DO. 1st and 2nd is only differentiated as it is processed coming through 'the system'.

A manager said something similar the other day, expected people to go through their bundles on delivery and pull out 1st class if they were struggling to compete

Is this true? It's always nice to have things like that to say to a manager if true

On 3 of my 4 shifts this week's I've done nothing but parcels. Each of these days has taken the whole shift just to do those parcels. So they don't need to worry about pulling out first class mail, the mail is not a priority regardless of its class.

As a lowly manager, I can confirm this is (mostly) true. 1st class is prioritised in processing, and 2nd is "advanced" if 1C volumes dry up. By the time it reaches delivery, the vast majority of 2C is due mail, and without checking each and every date (for those items that have them) it would be very difficult to stream at this point.

I’ve been on my own for two days and I’m on my own tomorrow as well. Still getting 6 bags of Mail done but it’s hard work in the heat
