I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

this was posted on our union website as ''angry postie'' puts members questions to union leaders. he doesn't seem very angry to me. he was probably hand picked as well. but putting a bloke who's not that well clued up against the unions ''professional speakers'', our negotiators,...was pantomime to say the least. i wouldve like to seen someone with a bit more mettle tbh. some of the 'firebrands' that come on here couldve put them to the test.

Does anyone honestly believe that lapsing/absorption will end completely? The agreement actually says that it will "significantly reduce lapsing"

The lapsing was originally introduced for 4 weeks during the summer and it's now all year round in our office. The reason being that it's down to local managers to maximise efficiency and make savings wherever they can under the caveat that workers are being paid for all the hours that they have worked.

Royal Mail still have the technology of PDA actuals and SISO data.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I know how they'll eradicate lapsing. You're no longer lapsing those streets off Duty 2, Duty 2's no more, those streets will magically appear on your frame monday morning. :nana

We had 2 different meetings last night the cwu one was defeatist, depressing and a sell out the other was refreshing and what a union should really be about ,VOTE NO !!!! we are the members and Royal Mail will never move forward without its workforce we should not bow down to threats and an agenda to break its workforce into submission.

We have won nothing.

Our terms and conditions have worsened.

The intolerable workplace situation, unaddressed.

It can only be a vote No, to this lousy agreement.

Other unions must be looking aghast at us.
