Anyone been off sick recently?

As per the title, has anyone been sick recently? Did you get paid? Asking for a friend who’s struggling with a heavy cold & doesn’t want to pass it to others

I was off first two weeks of the year. First week self cert., second week sick note. No problem with pay. No hassle from manager. From the sounds of it i’m one of the lucky ones.

Just had 1 day off sick,had my return to work I asked the question was I getting paid and the answer was yes

Nobody off sick at our place in the last six months, has had sick pay witheld.

I am pretty sure that if it was that easy to withold sick pay from people, they would have done it years ago.

Several people in our office have had sick pay withheld. All are pursuing claims via ACAS with a form they got from our CWU rep.
Hence the reason for my initial post

for withholding sick pay

Some are being refused sick pay at our unit. Manager specifically used to make his own judgement call on each case. Has been for a few months

Management deciding themselves who should and should not be paid at my unit based on no criteria whatsoever just plain B&H
