Will the union get the same support from its members in the next ballot? with the cost of living crisis deepning and these strikes taking its toll on
our wages be interesting to see if members will still vote to strike, what could sway it ,could be down to work to time, no days off, union might score an own goal with that, a lot of people are finding it hard enough to strike and relying on overtime and days off, but if they add work to time and no days off they might not get the backing from its members especially ones who have mortgages to pay.

I haven't witnessed people struggling financially at my office. Posties keep getting offered to come in early or stay out or work their day off and most reject the offer.

The overtime is there to make up for the strike days but people don't even want it.

I know it’s a long shot but I’m sure the union will be hoping for some kind of agreement before another ballot. They have committed to negotiating during the eves to find some kind of resolution, I’m not deluded by the way , I know this is highly unlikely.The union would have to work extremely hard to sell a new ballot to its members, they definitely wouldn’t get a 90% + yes vote this time and I’m sure they know that.

guys in my office poorer part of the country are not going to vote for strike if the union put work to time and not allowed to work your days off in the ballot, if the ballot is what it is the now then yes these same guys said they would continue strike action but not without overtime. You have to remember not everyone has paid their mortgages off and have families to pay for, the wage is shite just a pound above minumum and if u take into the fact ur striking all the time ,take the overtime away then ur better off in a minumum wage job the now u will come out with more

The management will no doubt be watching the ballot result hoping it will reject continuing IA, if the vote is for continue they will have to decide either negotiate or risk damaging RM with more willy waving macho posturing.

I've got no mortgage , car payments , children and notice the reduction of 2 days pay so with a mortgage to service it must have a impact .

Lets be honest you have to vote yes because if you dont and royal mail get their way your better off leaving and getting a minimum wage job as the conditions of no sick pay, annualised hours ,later finishes,longer deliveries while being tracked on your pda,for me its a no brainer,vote yes or leave now and get that minimum wage job.
