Proposed changes to sick pay

Greetings.

I'm probably a bit slow to catch up as in my job we're abandoned at the back of beyond but what are the proposed changes to sick absence?

Does anyone have a link to a thread?

At the moment in our office its managers discretion whether they pay you or not,if they dont like you don't get paid if they do you do get paid,that's discrimination who made the manager a gp and foremost its illegal,our union rep is now collecting evidence and taking royal mail to tribunal to get the the wages paid back and hopefully some compensation for the stress added,if you have suffered at the hands of these illegal acts contact the union asap,if your not in the union join immediately as the attacks are happening on a daily basis.

What I'm asking is do RM have a proposal for sick pay?
Have they made a written proposal to the Union to be negotiated?
Has the Union been made an offer that they have rejected?
Once IA has subsided what do the think the long term outlook for sick pay will be?
Or is this "up to mangers discretion" going to be the new normal and all we will get is SSP from day one?

The proposal is that you get full sick pay for your first absence in a rolling twelve month period.

For your second absence, the first three days of that absence are paid at ssp. After three days you would get full sick pay.

They also want to change the attendance agreement, reducing the amount you can have off before triggering an Attendance Review (can't remember what exactly they want to reduce it to).

In addition they want Attendance Reviews ("stages") to be automatically issued, not down to the discretion of manager - as they are now.

They did want to reduce ill health retirement, but have since said they'll leave that alone (although all we have is their word).
