Backpay or LUMP sum

Wishful thinking here but what would you rather? If things get sorted out

Option A - backdated pay to April

Option B - LUMP sum

Doubt option B would be pensionable, so option A for me.

We've been on strike to get a pay rise, which logically should backdated to April.

A lump sum isn't what we've been on strike to get.

A lump sum would be for one year only. It wouldn't be consolidated.

We need a proper no strings pay rise matching inflation. Any strings should come at a significant additional cost.

Obviously there has to be a pay increase flowing through to all allowances and overtime rates. If I rather it was a pay increase that was backdated to April or just implemented at date of agreement with a lump sum to compensate the period between April and that date would depend on which option gave me more money in my pocket.

I think we have zero chance of getting an acceptable deal that the CWU will accept, we have 12 agency workers their hours are increasing to 40 hrs per week as from next week, our manager is encouraging staff to leave their parcels so there is work for them, after this dispute comes to an end royal mail finances are going to be dismal, whats the betting we will lose our christmas bonus as this will not be sorted out before.

The union are really frustating me now. It’s clear these strikes aren’t scaring Royal Mail in the slightest. Put in a week long strike for the week before Christmas that will make them s**t themselves. And I bet all of us would be happy to take that off aswell.

I agree RM don't give a sh!t, they would if went out for a full week. All the pussy footing around with these odd days will amount to a couple of weeks anyway soon enough and cost us more.

If your going to strike it needs to have a huge impact!
