Update on Royal Mail Group dispute.
General Secretary Dave Ward and Deputy General Secretary (Postal) Terry Pullinger have today met with Royal Mail Group.

The CWU raised all the major issues of concern for our members and both parties have agreed to reflect on the position in the next 24 hours.

In the meantime, all focus should be remain on once again delivering huge support for the strikes on Thursday and Friday.

Not much of an "update" is it. They don't say who at Royal Mail they spoke to, or what about.

Why bother.

This is what really infuriates me about this union. We have so far backed the CWU and lost 2 days pay and due to lose another 2 days this week. The least they could do in return is give us members some brief bullet points of what’s been said by both sides in this meeting. But instead we get this cryptic nonsense, would have been better off just saying nothing at all.

Is this the start of something beautiful?
Where both sides come to an agreement that saves both their faces and looks like they 'won'?

Clearly RM want the 2 day strike called off.
CWU have been bitten before by calling off strikes in good faith.

Most firms will have made arrangements by now to use different carriers anyway won't they, so isn't going to make much odds this late in the day.

If the CWU back down at this point after the CEO and board have awarded themselves nearly a million shares they want to take a long hard look at themselves.

They'll bottle it, because they reckon members will start returning to work. So this is their way of saving face.

I’ll be more than pissed If they fall for not striking this week without a concrete pay deal signed up

Would be amazing, but I don't see us getting near that, with no strings.

I'm not sure what people are wanting.
This is not going to be resolved in 5 minutes.
They spoke, they'll speak again and again and again and eventually a deal might pop out the other end.
What good would there be in knowing every word of every conversation that goes on?

You are a right bunch on here ain’t you , I’m glad they are actually talking rather than slaughtering each other on social media , doesn’t mean they are bottling it or conceding on anything, this only gets resolved by talking.
