Managers to get £1000 bonus for working on strike days

As the title says. Confirmed by 2 managers, as long as they aren't sick during September they get a grand in October for going through the picket line and sending tracked out with agency staff in hire vans

I'm sure in one of the earlier posts it states on strike days they planned to have all managers (no agency staff) at the proposed parcel offices with a view to shifting 20-40% of the tracked which considering the abilities of the intended workforce maybe that's a bit hopeful, so perhaps they've ramped it up a bit.

But I thought the agency's were against being used to compensate for striking workers so what's happening there.

Well after posting I had a chat with our union rep and he said...
1. Some of them have been told it's £1500
2. They're down as "training" on strike days and it's just a way to undermine the CWU... Even if no agency go in, they want us to see the managers going in
3. Trainee managers are expected to go in without the bonus. All the grief for no reward.

Unite have told their members that they can't do anything that could be interpreted as industrial action, therefore should go to work when we're on strike. As long as there is no H&S issues and no unreasonable requests from the company. The same as our local area rep told us about walking through the gaffer's picket line. No idea if this bonus is fact or not, but it's slightly naughty to claim it's Royal Mail bribing their managers to cross pickets when their union has done the same.
