Let's hope so already shiting bricks by the sound of it. I have been on lots of stikes over the years the first time I thought I would be let go for doing so but it did not happen even with 3 million unemployed at the time. Many time since and nothing ever said a lot of the managers agree with us for going out on strike as that is how they get their own deals. Now the unemployment rate is 3.8% or just under 1.257 million but most of these are retired or not looking for work the vacancy rate is 1.3 Million vacancies now how do you square the circle between this you cannot so someone is bullshiting us all about loseing job's in RM they cannot even staff most offices and get the work out the door so don't believe the hype!

There is a number of reasons why we choose not to strike over the bank holiday.

1. Royal Mail want to do away with the Saturday USO.

2. That the company have in the past when have had strikes over the bank holiday counted it as continuous strike and deducted the bank holiday payment as well.

3. We don’t want to make this strike a opportunity for individuals to feel they have an extra day off. We are only going to win this if members use the strike to demonstrate their opposition to Royal Mail.

The day choices are imo brilliant, and that’s coming from someone who’s gonna be losing out on forty hours with those specific choices, it causes the most disruption you could possibly design for this time of year, that’s what it’s about, not having time off. Saturday will be dead but we still get paid and by the time the fallout is coming though we hit ‘em again..nice

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
