Breaking News Team……..RMG has decided to give imported volumes into the UK from GLS (yes part of the RMG business) to one of its main competitors in the UK what an incredible decision!!
Be under no illusion RM are not interested in reaching an agreement, VOTE YES!!
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
40 years in this job and this board are the lowest of low how bloody stupid can they be paying out for agency staff .now this surely it would be cheaper to give workers a decent pay rise .Mr Thompson you have lost THE TEAM and any trust what goes with it
Simon is having his Ratner’s moment here. What on earth is he thinking the press will have a field day when they run this story. Good luck to all the account managers trying to win new business after it’s been in the press we are subbing it out to Hermes, why bother with the middle man (RM).
Idiots or not. Business suicide or not.
This dispute is going to decide whether or not the future workforce of Royal Mail is unionised or not.
If I’m honest I don’t know if the majority of staff realise what’s about to happen over the next few months.
So tell us all whats about to happen if your in the know no rumours please.. an yes im well prepared.
Nothing to do with being in the know mate, I’d have thought it was obvious that this is not going to be the straightforward type of dispute we’ve had in the past.
It’s going to be a long hard slog in which we may only end up with a percentage of what we’re setting out for.
When I say don’t realise, I’m referring to the type of folk in your workplace and mine who don’t look or think outside their own bubble-if they’re not paying attention to the huge red flags posted by the company in terms of their attitude to us then they’re in for a surprise.
In this dispute, forewarned is very much forearmed.
The only way this decision makes sense is if they're trying to make a show of our operations versus Hermes By Any Other Name. Investors will see living proof of the megabucks potential of turning a broken RM into another fly-by-night parcel company.

Great reference with old Gerald, This really could bite them after all this has resolved itself for the long term
It will end in a s**t show ,our competitors can only just cope with what they got now,if Tesco are struggling to find staff where do these poorly paid delivery companies think they are going to find them,i deliver at least 30 small tracked packets and letters a day and that's not including my large ones, count that onto every walk in the country and Royal Mail board will be under some serious pressure from their customers, they should be under no illusion in todays climate of a shortage of labour they are in for one hell of a shock,i just hope they have hired out some massive warehouses to store the backlog that is heading their way like a steam train. CWU forever, unity is strength, just remember xmas is just around the corner and the board will be sh----g themselves we are talking a collapse of internet shopping as we know it,even amazon are creaking putting more and more packets through us. BRING IT ON !!!!!
