Simon Says

I'll say to you now, and I'll just be totally straight with you all, if I could give you all an inflation increase, well, I just would, wouldn't I because why on earth would I want to put us in a situation that we're in where we got a bit attention around the place, I mean, why on earth would I do that, I wouldn't do that.

We've just spent a whole year together invested in pdas uniforms, electric vans, automation hubs, you know, we've even you know the bottom hundred delivery offices were now fixing.

The trust initiative we've done as well, why, why why would we deliberately disrupt the great work where we've done well, look, we wouldn't, right, but I'll tell you now, you would not forgive me if I was not focused on making sure that we can compete in this market, and we can give everybody the job security that, frankly, everybody deserves for tomorrow as well as today.

And look, I don't know how you feel about this current situation, but honestly, I think some days to me, it just feels a little bit rubbish, and what I always say is that when things are perhaps not ideal and the most important thing we do is that we keep talking because I've never ever seen anything fixed with silence.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Who asked for £m's to be spent on a new uniform, plus why bin all the old uniform, why not just have a slow transition as the old uniforms came up for replacement if RM couldn't afford the change? Likewise with the vans I can't recall many OPG's demanding 100's of new electric vans were purchased.

You see, I read shite like this and then I remember our managers yesterday showing off their shiny new Surface Pros like kids on Christmas morning.

Every manager in the country got one of these; grand a pop but I expect RM got a bulk deal.

It just makes me more angry and determined to dig in and get something off this gravy train we're not allowed to get on...

How do i feel about this simon sweetie?

SUICIDAL.

Why would anyone want to work sundays, start working in the afternoon and be outside in either+30ococ or -5 in the dark rain and fog in winter and not to mention sending our female staff out in the dark alone in winter up till 8/9pm at night, why would i want annualised working and cut off any chance of getting the money i need to live when bunch of greedy feckless gits stuff your pockets with gold and refuse to give us a payrise, why would i want you to cut off my pay when im sick from doing the hard graft that earns you lot millions of pounds.

That clear enough hun?

I can only assume Simon is showing shareholders that he is trying to make them richer. He surely knows the pay rise and strings attached that he's offering is an insult to us and surely it's just a starting point.

How can you offer a 3.5% pay rise with conditions when the national living wage has been increased by 6.6% when the business is doing well. It is not right, it is demotivating, it would open the door to even more Posties leaving.

Nobody accepts this offer. Please match the 6.6% national living wage increase and forget any conditions. There are surely many ways the company can save money / profit more without harming its own employees.

6.6 should b the starting point for the fourth emergency service, 53 and 27 years service body falling to bits and offering us a pittance that u have to get ur nuts taken off to get!! ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL!!! I'm sure super duper Si sleeps well without the need of painkillers!!

I'd have a small amount of respect for him if he just told the truth - "we don't want to give you a pay rise, we don't actually want to pay you at all, you are all a bunch of lazy bastards, so stop whinging and clear your office" because that is about his real level.

Never felt so disillusioned working for this mob after 27 years. The past 2 years have been chaos due to covid but we have been totally run off our feet due to the online shopping boom and this is the s@@t they try to offer us. give a little in one hand but take a lot off us with the other.
